Dan Dewitt Jones passed away unexpectedly on September 21, 2023.  Dan was born in Athens on February 17, 1967.  He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa Pledger, 36 of Athens , and Danielle Jones, 29 of Sandusky, OH; a niece;  two nephews; and three grandchildren. Elizabeth Sophia Cross, fondly known as "Betty," was born February 5, 1950 in Nashville, Tennessee. Frances Barnett Sims was one of nine children born in Greensboro, Georgia to the late Lewis Barnett and Susie Payne Barnett. She was a graduate of Rosewall High School, Watkinsville, Georgia. Frances was employed over 70 years by Mr. & Mrs. Billy and Josephine Strickland and Mr. & Mrs. Tony & Joan Lewis Salloum.
