Dennis Gilbert Wray was born June 8, 1963 in Athens, Georgia he was the second son of the late Mr. William Wray and Barbara Andrews Wray.  At an early age, he committed his life to God and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church, West. He departed this earthly life on July 14, 2019.

Dennis was raised by his maternal grandparents, the late Mr. Jim Elder and Mrs. Hattie E. Elder. In addition to his grandparents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Bernard Wray.

Dennis attended Hope Haven for 52 years starting at age 4.  He was an employee of University of Georgia Bolton Dining Hall for 6 years.

Dennis exuded an affectionate and welcoming personality. His memorable tagline when introducing himself "Hey, my friend. My name is Dennis Gilbert Wray", will resonate in our hearts forever. Dennis enjoyed bowling, swimming, The University of Georgia Bulldogs, and dancing (especially to Michael Jackson).

He leaves to cherish and rejoice in his memory two aunts, Hattie Ann E. (Charlie) Moon, Peggy L. Huff; uncle, James (Krystal) Elder, Jr., all of Athens; and a host of relatives and friends.
