Francine Freeman Favors, a native of Oglethorpe County, affectionally known as "Red", was born to the late Isaac and Margret "Rene" Moore Freeman. She was the "youngest child" born into this union.
She was educated in the Oglethorpe County School System and graduated with the Class of 1968. Being baptized at Springfield Baptist Church, Crawford, Georgia, after marrying and moving to Athens, she later transferred her membership to Springfield Baptist Church, Athens, Georgia.
Always expressing her love for family by being a caregiver for several of her family members. Francine worked throughout the Athens area for various organizations, as a loyal and dedicated employee until her health failed. Leadership raved about her excellent work ethics. Due to her untimely illness, she retired early from Saint Mary's Hospital. Her work motto was "Hard Work Never Hurt Anyone".
Francine was united in marriage to Lynell Favors, Sr. and this union has been a loving commitment for forty-nine years. And she was blessed with all sons, and grandsons.
Francine was preceded in death by a devoted son, Chadwick Freeman; and siblings, John Isaac Freeman "Jr", Eugene M. Freeman, Alfronza Freeman, and Betty Morris.
She is survived by her husband, Lynell Favors, Sr.; devoted sons, Bernard Freeman and Lynell (Tina) Favors, loving grandsons, Stephen Freeman, Kyle Freeman, and Keelan Bell; two great-grandchildren; loving siblings, Lizzie Sue Harper and Blanche Stovall; sister-in laws, Gussie Mack, Mary Bell Smith, and Carolyn Scott; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Francine will truly be missed by all her family and friends.
Her joyful outburst of laughter, love for family, encouragement to keep it moving forward, her love for enjoying life, along with her upbeat spirit. As the anchor to her entire family, her loss will be felt through the cloth that she weaved over her seventy-six years with us.
