Gay Veronica Maxey July 31, 1949 ~ July 7, 2021 (age 71)

Gay V. Maxey of Cleveland, Ohio formerly of Athens, GA was born on July 31, 1949 to the parents of the late Lula Taylor Barnett and the late Lewis Maxey in Athens, GA. Gay departed this life on July 7, 2021 after an extended illness.

Gay lived a life full of joy and happiness. Her greatest joy was singing Saprano in numerous choirs and attending all kinds of gospel programs. Gay had a gift of song and always wanted to share it with others.

Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Turk Memorial Chapel, Cleveland, OH.

Gay leaves to mourn the loss but cherish the memories, 2 brothers Mr. James Carey Maxey of Cleveland, OH and Mr. Michael Barnett of Waycross, GA. Two devoted cousins Mrs. Toni Lumpkin and Ms. Tammy Gartrell, of Athens, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
