Carl Davis, Jr., 83 of Athens, a native of Oconee County, Georgia was the son of the late Carl Davis, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Blount Davis.
He joined Browns Chapel Baptist Church, Bishop, Georgia at an early age and was the oldest male member of the church.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Florence B. Davis; daughter, Bonnie Hampton Travis; step-daughter, Deborah B. Gunter; son, Carl "Trey" Davis, lll; step-son, Tommy Bolton; sisters, Marie Glenn, Annette Lounds, Lucille Davis, and Martha Davis; brothers, Charles Davis and James Davis; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation in Mr. Davis' memory.
The funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 10AM.
The family is receiving friends at the residence.
