Caterri Sabrina Leaks, born to Charlotte Sanders Leaks and Horace Lee Leaks of Atlanta, Georgia, was
welcomed into the arms of Jesus on December 3, 2022, after a long illness.
Caterri was educated in the Atlanta public school system. She graduated from D.M. Therrell High School in 1984
and received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of West Georgia in 1988. Caterri was
employed as a controller for many years with Hewlett-Packard and Georgia Pacific.
Caterri was a faithful member of Hoosier United Methodist Church, serving in Sunday School and the Gospel
Choir until her health began to fail.
Caterri’s love of children and writing was evident as a published author and a primary Sunday school teacher. She
walked into her vision of a company that catered to teaching children the word of God. She created a character
in the shape of a heart that captured the essence of her desire and passion for writing. “Willie Willing Heart”
became the spiritual mascot of Caterri’s dreams and vision. “Willie Willing Heart and the Ten Commandments”
was a clear, concise format which children and adults could understand. Her writing style allowed the revelation
of God’s Word to come alive.
During the eight years as a teacher in the children’s ministry, her passion became more evident. The magnitude
of her teaching was evidenced when a student from a previous class repeated the memory verse along with hand
motions and clearly recalled the lesson, which was her ultimate goal. As Caterri continued to find creative ways
to develop biblical lessons for her students, church leadership recognized her talent and enlisted her help in
development of their children’s ministry curriculum. This venue further enhanced her passion and grew her local
vision into an international calling.
Caterri embodied a sweet and accommodating spirit that touched all she encountered. She will be deeply missed
by all who knew her.
She was preceded to Heaven by her mother, the late Charlotte Sanders Leaks.
Cherished memories are left with: a loving daughter, Chelsea Addison Leaks; her father, Horace Lee Leaks; three
sisters, Myrna Wigley (Warren), Zenobia Lankford (Garry), and Quendolyn Hall; nieces, Erin McMillion (Kori)
and Quinta Hall; nephews, Quinston Hall and Zarius Anderson; great-niece and great-nephew, Elliot and Ethan
McMillion; and a host of loving cousins, extended family, and friends.
