Dexter Bernard Arnold was the fourth child born to Geneva Rucker Arnold and the late Eugene Arnold in Athens, Georgia on May 14, 1963.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Arnold Jordan.
He was a graduate of Cedar Shoals High School Class of 1981. Dexter and his family loved sports, but football was his passion.
At an early age, Dexter attended St. Luke A.M.E. Church. He was an active member of East Friendship Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a deacon under the leadership of Rev. James Kendrick. On many occasions when leading devotion, Dexter would like to close with a moral to a story. “Guide Me Over Thy Great Jehovah” was one of his favorite songs, as well as one of his favorite songs to sing.
Dexter was a “gentle giant”, who could be described as a loving, humble, generous person, loved his family and was a true friend to others. Dexter and Demetrius has an indescribable father and son bond. It was a relationship that modeled how a “Christian Man’ leads his family.
He leaves many cherished memories to his loving and devoted wife, Patricia Renee Arnold; children, Stephanie Cade, Demetrius Fikes, Jessica Arnold, Kendra Arnold; mother, Geneva R. Arnold; siblings, Anthony (Henrietta) Arnold, Angela (Stan) Nash, Regina (Dwight) Heard; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Al & Lillie Dowdy; five grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-laws & sister-in-laws, and friends.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
