Dock was born Oglethorpe county to Willie and Sarah Pearl Davenport on November 20, 1938. He went to school at Oglethorpe County High School. He married Ruth Patricia Carey on September 18, 1963. He worked as a Mechanic for most of his life. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Piney Grove Baptist Church where he remained a member until death.
Dock is preceded in death by Willie and Sarah Pearl Davenport, Dorothy Cunningham, Idamanda Alexander, Annie Ruth Davenport, and Charlene Watkins.
Dock is survived by his wife, Ruth Patricia; children: Phillip (Wendy) Davenport, Taffi (Kelvin) Moore, Nicklas (Cherita) Davenport, and Patrick Davenport; brothers and sisters: Walter (Molly) Davenport, Willie (Barbara) Davenport, Raymond (Martha) Davenport, Harold (Joyce) Davenport, Wayne Davenport, Geneva (George) Hodges, Bertha (Charles) Winfrey, Barbara Jean (Robert) Perry; Grandchildren: Dedrick Davenport, Qutisha (Steve) Brown, Shekita (Cornelius) Carter, Roderick Davenport, Desiree Walters, Remy Brightwell, Trosoadas Davenport, Keira Davenport, Tayla Davenport, and Kaden Davenport and many great-Grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
