“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven”
Mrs. Emma Lue Gordon was a loving, strong woman of faith who peacefully answered her call on Monday, May 17, 2021. She was born on March 17, 1928 in Oconee County to the late Mr. Charlie and Mrs. Paree Middlebrooks Browning She was preceded in death by her late husband, Willie Gordon; brothers Charlie Jr., Sampson, George and Charlie Peg Browning; and sisters Nancy Cleveland, Alberta Thomas, Bessie Browning and Hattie Watson.
She joined and was baptized at Hillsboro Baptist Church at an early age, where she served as a faithful Missionary. She attended the Oconee County Public Schools. After working 35 years as a cook in the Clarke County School System, she retired.
Mrs. Gordon enjoyed lending a helping hand to everyone, cooking, fishing and spending time with her love ones until her health no longer permitted.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a sister, Shirley Ramson and sister-in- law, Minnie Browning, both of Athens; God-sister, Annie Gain of Hartwell; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
