Fern Louise Lumpkin Archambeau of Atlanta, Georgia, the second child of the late Louise Jones and Houston Lumpkin Jr., was born November 6, 1947 in Athens, Georgia.
She was a graduate of Dubuque University in Iowa. Fern was employed as an educator for deaf and other special needs students for 17 years in the Atlanta Public School System.
Fern enjoyed many creative pursuits in life including watercolor painting, creating floral arrangements and traveling to foreign countries. She loved animals of all species and had several beloved canine companions and rabbits during her lifetime. She greatly appreciated the beauty of nature and the flora found within it. Seasonal leaves and flowers were often the subjects of her artwork.
Fern entered into eternity on Sunday, May 14, 2017. Her memory and spirit of life will be cherished by her husband, Jason Archambeau; her only child, Rachel; siblings, Houston (Ollie) Lumpkin, III and Winston Jones; and nephew, Houston Lumpkin IV.
