Florence was born in Athens, Georgia on August 28, 1944, to Mae Willie and James Lumpkin Sr.
Florence was raised in Watkinsville, Georgia, where she joined Morton Chapel Baptist Church at a young age. Her faith began to flourish, and she began to build long lasting relationships. For 25 years, she dedicated herself to her work at Howard Johnson where her strong work ethic and friendly spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Florence was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of everyone around her. Her love was boundless, her kindness was immeasurable, and her laughter truly contagious. As one of nine children, family was her life. She cherished her children, brothers, and sisters with all her heart. She created a home filled with warmth and love. Her kindness touched everyone she met, and her unwavering support made her one of the cornerstones of the Lumpkin family. Florence was the source of strength, always ready with a listening ear and comforting hug.
