Mr. Grady Howard was born December 12, 1940 to the late James Grady Cox and Sara Bell Cox. He attended Oglethorpe County public school. At an early age, he accepted Christ and joined St, James AME of Oglethorpe GA where he served faithfully in the Male Chorus. He was called home June 16, 2021.
He was united in holy matrimony to his beautiful wife Mrs. Evelyn Howard in October of 1971, 42 years, until the death of Evelyn in February 2013.
Mr. Grady was employed driving 18 wheelers for a few years, and then found himself as a faithful Concrete Finisher up until he retired. He also was a singer in The Commanders gospel group, and also loved playing the lottery and watching the Braves baseball games; in which he played in his youth as a back catcher and first base player.
He is survived by his daughters Beradette Howard of Athens, GA and Bridgette Williams of Leesburg, GA; one brother Matt Brightwell of Athens, GA; one brother-in-law Tommy Roach of Athens, GA; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A special sister Mary Hawkins of Oglethorpe, GA.
