Life Reflections
On, June 3, 1945, the late Mr. Pinkney and Mrs. Beatrice Robinson of Bishop, GA, welcomed a baby boy, who they named, Harry. He graced this earth, until Saturday, November 4, 2023, when the Lord called him home to eternal rest.
Through his early years, he was fondly called, “Zeke” and “Harry Jr.” He accepted Christ as his Savior, and became a faithful member of Browns Chapel Baptist Church in Bishop, GA. He attended public school in Oconee County, and later moved to Athens, GA, where he met and married Alvagene Gaines. They soon became the proud parents of their beautiful daughter, Tiesha. The two remained friends until the end.
Harry joined the United States Army, and respectfully served in the Vietnam war. After returning from military duties, he joined Unity Life Insurance, which later became Atlanta Life Insurance. His career ascended him to District Manager and transferred him to Bogalusa, LA, where he worked until his retirement. He later moved to LaGrange, GA, where he spent the rest of his days.
He was widely known for his love of music, and he will be remembered for his continuous service as a piano player for several churches throughout Bishop, Watkinsville, and Athens, GA, as well as Bogalusa LA, and Lagrange, GA. Over the years, he never wavered from the task of caring for animals of all kinds, and watching sports, especially his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves.
He was preceded in death by his siblings; three brothers, Robert, Grady, Charles, and two sisters, Mamie, and Rosa, as he was the last surviving member of their generation.
Harry leaves to cherish his memories: a daughter, Tiesha Evans (Hosea) of LaGrange, GA; a granddaughter, Mariah Carroll (Trey), of Knoxville, TN; a friend, Ms. Alvagene Robinson of LaGrange, GA; a special niece, Catogna Vomo of Loganville, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
