Mrs. Jessie Mae Winfrey, 88, entered eternal rest, December 31, 2015 after an extended illness in Athens, Georgia.
Mrs. Winfrey was born February 4, 1927, in Watkinsville, Georgia to the late Cora Teasley and Clint Robinson. Mrs. Winfrey is preceded in death by her oldest son, Elmer Foster Jr. and her late husband, Mr. Luther Winfrey.
She joined Hill Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. After retirement of 30 years at Gold Kist, Mrs Winfrey continued to work part-time at Broad Acres Daycare Center under the Grandparents Program.
Mrs. Winfrey is survived by her daughters, Sylvia J. Dowdy, Carolyn Sims and her son, Larry Foster, all of Athens, Georgia. She has 14 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and other relatives.
