Deacon Jimmy Howard was born to the late Johnny and Mamie Howard on May 26, 1932 and transition into heaven on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
Jimmy graduated from Athens Industrial High School, Athens, Georgia. In December of 1952. Jimmy enlisted in the United State Army, obtaining the rank of Corporal.
Jimmy met and married the love of his life, Margaret Elizabeth Davenport and they were married on May 6, 1968. They were blessed with nine children, Ora Davenport, Deloris Fleming, Milton Holloway, Sheila Geter, Jackie Holloway, Antony Holloway, Michael Holloway, Teresa Craig and Sandy Howard.
He was Ordained as a deacon on January 17, 1982 by the late Reverend Joseph Sims, Pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Farmington, Georgia, where he served faithfully until his illness.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Howard; daughter, Ora Davenport; grandson, Markie Holloway; brothers, Lamar Howard, Alphonza Lawrence and Johnny Howard Jr.
He is survived by five daughters, Sandy Howard, Teresa (Sam) Craig,
Deloris Fleming, Sheila (Mal) Geter and Jackie Holloway; three sons, Milton (Connie) Holloway, Anthony Holloway and Michael (Diane) Holloway; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Davenport; twenty-one grandchildren,
forty-three great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
