On a warm spring day, March 21, 1941, the late Fannie Lee Mingo Morrison and Curtis Barrett of Monroe, Georgia, were blessed with a bouncing baby boy. Johnny lived a very active and adventurous life, until sickness disabled him in 2009. On Thursday, July 4, 2019, God called him home to eternal rest.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Browns Chapel Baptist Church, 1030 Browns Chapel Road, Bishop, GA 30621.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memory six children, Stuart Barrett, Kuaretta (John) Lawrence, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Barrett, Catogna (Alexander) Vomo, Alicia Sesay (Mother: Elizabeth Sesay), Johnny Barrett, Jr. (Mother: Mary Ann Barrett); three biological brothers: Vance Barrett, Danny Ray Barrett, Terry Barrett (Kathy); three godbrothers, Ray Charles Morrison, Thomas Dillard (Cookie), and Ralph Dillard (Louise); three godsisters: Shirlene Allen, Shirlicia Williams (Dave), and Costine Lee (Brian); two aunts: Mattie Ross and Mozelle Jones, 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, a caregiver/friend, Phalyn A. Arnold, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.
