Julia Mae Fortson of Athens, was a native of Wilkes County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Fortson, Sr. and son, Horace Fortson, Jr.
Mrs. Fortson was a dedicated member of Clifford Grove Baptist Church and New Hope Baptist Church.
She was employed at Athens General Hospital as an LPN for many years.
Survivors include 6 children: Mamie Funderburk, Rosa Fortson, Carolyn Fortson, Theodore (Mamie) Martin, Thelma Maddox and Annie Lumpkin; daughter-in-law: Eleanor Fortson; 13 grandchildren and other relatives.
The family is receiving friends at the residence.
