~ In loving memory of Katherine St. Claire Hearn ~
Katherine began her eternal journey suddenly on January 30, 2024, from a pulmonary embolism at her home in Athens Georgia.
Katherine had a deep faith in Jesus, was very active in her church, and always tried to be a light from Heaven to everyone she met -- she will be sorely missed by all.
Devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, she is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Perry Richard Hearn of Athens Georgia, daughters Michelene Renee Hearn of San Diego, California, Rachel Ashley Hearn of Asheboro, North Carolina, and Michael Joseph Hearn of Waltham Massachusetts; sister, Michelene Rhodes of Hendersonville North Carolina; and brother, Marc Connelly of Piedmont, South Carolina.
Her mother, Marilyn Ball Connelly, father, John Connelly, and brother, Jon Connelly preceded her in death.
Katherine enjoyed spending time talking with people and serving others, attending church services, cooking, exercising, movies, books and a love of traveling.
She worked as a Physician’s Assistant both in Massachusetts and Georgia and retired two years ago. Her treasured memories included growing up with her siblings, raising three children and doing missionary work in Moldova.
Katherine graduated from Tampa Catholic High School in 1976 and from High Point University in 1980. After furthering her education, she graduated from Wake Forest University in 1982 as a Physician’s Assistant (P.A.).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4PM, Saturday, February 24th, at the Athens Church of Christ, 3720 Mars Hill Road, Watkinsville, Georgia 30677.
A bright light no longer shines on earth. May the love and light of others who were touched by Katherine shine brighter. Her light now shines in Heaven.
