Lula M. Stovall

Ms. Lula Mary Huntley Stovall entered into this early life, January the 25, 1930 and entered eternal rest on May 21, 2025.

She was born in Athens, Georgia to the late Mr. William  B. and Mrs. Suzie Anna Huntley.
 
Lula attended school in the Clarke County School District, and later studied Upholstery at Athens Technical College. She united with the Hill Chapel Baptist Church, then she made Chestnut Grove Baptist Church her home for over 60 years. Her services at Chestnut Grove includes church clerk, a choir member, and she was in the prayer ministry. Her most enjoyment came from teaching the Senior Sunday School Class well into her 80s and 90s. 

At the age of 20, she married Mr. Jarrett Stovall and they enjoyed 65 wonderful years together. They raised one niece/daughter, the late Josie Louise Lester Nimmons, and mentored several other children. 

She worked outside the home at New Way Cleaners, Reliance Electric, and Kendall Companies. Her career ended with her own upholstery shop. Lula served customers throughout Northeast Georgia, many of them became long-time friends. 

Ms. Stovall enjoyed traveling, fishing, sewing and cooking. 

She loved her "Fur Babies".  The latest being two cats, Patches and Snatches. 
Her memories will be cherished by an adopted daughter, Lucy Hanson, son-in-law, Leroy Jones, granddaughters, Denise  Mickens, Yvonne (William) Smallwood and Tonia (Jackie) Grant; grandsons, Maurice, (Maricela) Nimmons and Robert Stovall; special nephews, Fred (Martha) Huntley and Jason Johnson. She will be missed by great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and other nephews, her Chestnut Grove Baptist Church family, other relatives and many friends. Special friends, Fay Marable, Yolanda Barrow,  Mary Howard,  Gwen Freeman and Mrs. Izora Jackson.
