Nia K Knox was born in Atlanta, Georgia. At Grady Memorial Hospital, on October 6, 1994 to Dianna Bumett and Charles Knox II. After Nia was born, she lived in Decatur, Georgia with her grandmother Shirley Huff along with her siblings until she was two years old.
She was a daddy's girl for sure. The youngest of her daddy's seven children. He loved Nia uncondisi He moved her to Athens, Georgia where she spent most of her childhood growing up. She attended Street Elementary, Clarke Middle School and Clarke Central High School in Athens, Georgia. She a: and completed the Job Corps in Brunswick, Georgia and she decided to further her education as accepted into Athens Technical College to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
Nia loved music; from middle to high school she played the clarinet. She also played basketball, ran o and took ballet classes to become a ballerina. Yes, Nia was a ballerina and like a black swan she i beautiful. Her passion was music. She loved to sing and dance. Nia was very creative, she enjoyed arts as culture. She was pursuing writing a book sharing her struggles and testimonies in life.
At a young age Nia was baptized at Hill First Baptist Church. Her father gave his life to the Lord to become a pastor and minister at Prodical Sons Outreach Ministries Inc.
Throughout her young adult life Nia entered the workforce. Determined to make her own way in this life, she got her first job at Checkers, went on to places like Waffle House, Zaxby's, and American Deli. Those jobs didn't fulfill her, she continued to look for work until she landed a job that pleased her. She was employed at BMW Motor Company and was so happy with the position working on the assembly line.
On May 1, 2014, she gave birth to her pride and joy Ava. She was happy to be a mom. Nia and Ava were like two peas in a pod. She found purpose when she gave birth to Ava. She still felt something was missing in her life.
Although Ava was the apple of her eye, she felt like Ava needed a sibling. On May 26, 2017, she gave birth to her son Shine Amir. Once Ava had a brother Nia felt complete. Life was good until the death of her father Charles Knox Il in 2023, unfortunately due to situations out of her control she was unable to say goodbye to her father. Heartbroken about her father's passing, life as she knew it was never the same. She tried to be strong and push forward. His death left a void in her heart that could not be filled Nia went into deep depression trying to cope with the loss of her father. The pain of not being her daddy's girl was too much for her heart to bear.
On May 15, 2024 our Lord and Savior took that burden from her heart and reunited her with him. Nia was preceded in death by her father, Pastor Charles Knox II; her grandmother Shirley Huff; uncle, Johnny Collins and brother, Lugman Burnett. She leaves to cherish her memories and is survived by Ava Knox (daughter) Amir Knox (son) Diana Burnett (mother) Fatimah Burnett (sister) Hakim Burnett (brother) Imani Blathers (sister) Jamal Burnett (brother) Yvette Flanigan (sister) Natasha Maxey (sister) Francine Jackson (sister) Charles Knox Ill (brother) Evie Knox (sister) Annie Knox (sistet); nephew and niece, Malik Blathers and Mahlia Blathers; aunties, Brenda Hawes, Monica Huff, Tami Huff and a host of cousins, including her favorite cousin Sharell Henderson, and a host of family and friends.
