Ray C. Harris, Sr. was born to Roy and Fannie Lois Harris on April 12, 1959 in Athens, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Shamon Elder; brother, Roger Harris; and brother-in- law, Tommy Ferrell.
Ray accepted Christ at an early age and connected with Oak Hill Baptist Church in Watkinsville, Georgia.
Ray graduated from the Oconee County High School. After graduation enlisted in the U.S. Army. After a brief stent in the military, he return home. He had a love for working on cars and doing construction work. If anyone needed to see him, he could be found on "The Block" which is where he spent most of his time. He loved his family and could always say or do something to make you laugh. He lived his life like he wanted to and never cared what others thought of him. He never complained about anything and was always full of life. Ray was the epitome of "Living life with no regrets".
On Saturday, January 27, 2024, the Harris family's circle was broken when God called him from our daily lives.
Cherishing his memories are his three children, Ray (Carinthia) Harris, Rachel Harris, and Felisha Harris; sisters, Mary Ferrell, Sylvia Harris, Lillie Harris and Alice Foster; brothers, Roy Allen (Denise) Harris, Robert Harris, Pastor Roy Michael (Mary) Harris, Randall Harris, Ronald (Sherrie) Harris, Raymond Harris, Ricky Harris, and Roy Michael Foster; ten grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; other love ones; and a special friend, Ruth "Popeye".
