 Mother Ruth Jency Watson Crawford age 92 of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Gwinnett Hospice Extended Care Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
 
 Ruth was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina on February 10, 1927.  Ruth was the daughter of the Willie and Isabell Watson.  She married Jerry Ward in the 1940’s.   
 
 Ruth worked at Gray’s Drug Store in Tri-County from 1961-1972. Ruth joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Woodlawn, Ohio in the 1950’s.  She was a very active and generous member.  She was a member of the usher board, (usherettes), the gospel choir for many, many years.  Ruth also was involved with many social and community outreach projects which was hosted by Reverend Otis Moss, Jr. who was the minster at that time. He was invited many times during the Civil Rights Movement in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, along with Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Reverend Ralph D. Abernathy, Reverend Jessie Jackson, Reverend Shuttersworth, Reverend Hosea Williams, and Ms. Fannie Lou Hamer. Ruth also participated in “The Poor People’s Campaign in Washington, D.C. in the 1960’s.
 
 Those who knew Ruth knew she truly loved The Lord Almighty.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Willie and Mrs. Isabell Watson; three brothers, Mr. Luther Watson, Mr. Will H. Watson,                       and Mr. Charlie B. Watson; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie M. Marks, Mrs.                      Frances Jackson and Ms. Agnes Nims; Daughter, Ms. Earnestine Phillips; son, Mr. Randy Ward; and her husband, Mr. Harold Crawford.     She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Janet Huff of Cincinnati, OH and Jerrie (Andre) Johnson of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Ronnie Ward of Cincinnati, OH, and Matt Douglas Ward of FL; one sister, Ms. Annette Moore of Athens, GA; one brother, Mr. Charles R. Watson of Athens, GA; six grandchildren, twenty-five grandchildren; Ruth Jency Watson Crawford will truly be missed.   
 Rest in peace daughter, mother, sister,   grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
