Sandra Jean Taylor passed away on September 16, 2025, and was welcomed into eternal paradise surrounded by her sisters and niece.
Born and raised in Athens, GA, and educated in the Clarke County School District, Jean was employed at UGA Building Services for nearly 40 years. In addition, she led the custodial team at the Georgia Square Mall Sears and spent years working in textile plants in the Athens area. She was an active member of East Friendship Baptist Church, serving in the Women's Ministry and various missionary committees.
Never too busy making a living that she forgot to make a life, Jean was a woman with a generous spirit who gave love and unwavering support to the people in her life. She was a devoted aunt to her only niece, whom she helped raise and nurtured. Jean had a way of making things easier for those around her. She was a soft place to land and a conduit of joy for many cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Boley Taylor, and her brother, Charles Stanley Taylor.
To cherish precious memories of her, Jean leaves two sisters, Joanne Taylor and Janis (JC) Young; her niece, Nicole A. Taylor (Adrian Franks); and her great-nephew, Garvey Crown Franks; as well as a host of cousins and friends.
